The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an online Guest Lecture on “Green Hydrogen: The Fuel of a Sustainable Future” on 31st October 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The event was held at the CAD Laboratory and featured Dr. R. Tamilselvan, Subject Matter Expert, Larsen and Tourbo (L&T), Chennai as the chief guest and speaker. The event began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Rajashri R, an III-year Mechanical Engineering student, who greeted the chief guest, faculty members, and students, creating an engaging atmosphere for the lecture. Following this, Ms. S. Anushiya, also an III-year Mechanical Engineering student, introduced Dr. R. Tamilselvan, emphasizing his expertise and professional achievements in Green Hydrogen Field. The lecture detailed about various hydrogen generation methods, including traditional processes such as steam methane reforming and emerging green technologies like electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources (solar, wind). He elaborated on the challenges and advancements in hydrogen storage solutions, including compressed gas, liquefied hydrogen, and novel solid-state storage technologies that improve safety and efficiency. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. R. Deva, III-year Mechanical Engineering student, who expressed gratitude to Dr. R. Tamilselvan for his enlightening session, thanked the management for their support, and appreciated the active participation of faculty and students that made the event successful.
