The KIT Library, as vital to the college as a face is to a person, spans 611 sq.m. and conforms to international standards.

STACK ROOM

803 bookshelves are housing the books for lending. The books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system. Bay guides are available for easy access. An open-access system is followed, which goes a long way in helping readers locate books and making the search process easier. Books and bookshelves are cleaned daily to prevent pests.

READING HALL

It is a spacious and well-ventilated area for comfortable reading for extended periods, exclusively holding the syllabus copies. It includes 10 round tables with a seating capacity of 50 chairs. Students are permitted to bring books from the stacks for their reading. Besides that, there are 5 drawing tables.

REFERENCE SECTION

There are 1270 reference books, including Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, and Handbooks (General, Science, and Technology) on all branches of engineering, science, and the humanities. The reference hall is equipped with 6 full-size steel racks. It consists of 2 tables seating 10, exclusively for reference purposes.

PERIODICAL SECTION

A separate section is available for Periodicals on the mezzanine floor. It has 3 tables with a seating capacity of 15 chairs. Additional chairs are available when necessary. This section includes both technical and Non-technical Journals and magazines at the National and International levels. The latest issue of the Journal / Magazine will be exhibited outside on the respective shelves. Previous issues will be for ready reference.

NEW ARRIVALS SECTION

In this section, the latest titles and editions are displayed for the attention of the users to update their knowledge.

NEWSPAPER SECTION

There are two separate round-shaped tables to read newspapers. This has 2 sets of double round tables and 8 single chairs for pleasure reading.

BOOK BANK SECTION

There are 343 books in the book bank section. The books can be provided exclusively for Post Matric Scholarship holders of the SC & ST students. Each student can take up to 5 books, which can be kept for one semester.

RARE BOOK/ SPECIAL BOOKS

There are 437 books in the rare book section. Our library has an extensive collection of resources available for users. The library is enriched with rare books, including handbooks, old editions, encyclopaedias, project reports, and books on competitive examinations, personality development, and the English language.

REPROGRAPHY SECTION

There is one photocopy available in the central library. The library provides reprographic services to the users at a nominal cost. This service is helpful to the students for preparing their paper presentations, projects, etc.

Digital Library

The digital library user has access to all digital content, including CDs and DVDs, through 18 systems that are exclusively assigned to them and located in the central library. To access various E-resources, such as DELNET, NDLI, e-Shodh Sindhu and K-hub, the digital library is equipped with adequate computers and a high-speed internet connection of 200 Mbps. Our digital library offers capabilities such as internet access, e-book access, e-journal access, NDLI access, K-hub access, CD-ROM access, and web access. This section also has well-equipped furniture and computers.

  • Present a valid KIT ID card at checkout
  • Items can be renewed in person for another 14 days
  • Overdue fine: ₹1 per item per day
